事后，Smirnov解释天天德州说：“这是个没难度的fold，如果对方拿了KK，他翻牌前会反加Dwan，因为他之前行动就挺多，经常加注，所以他不可能拿了KK，理论上说JJ倒是有可能，可这手牌前面的时候，对方却打得很小心，但最后他却全下了。”
因此，Smirnov读对方的范围是10♠9♠ ，中了同花顺，所以他弃牌了，不过不少pro表示换做他们，他们是fold不掉的。比如Phil Galfond，他说：“就我自己来说，我做不到像Smirnov那样，这辈子没见过这种fold，从没见过，要是我像他那样fold了，我想我会睡不着的，不过说到底，他弃牌也合理，John范围里的牌型其实不多，同花顺是最有可能的一手。”
